Martin Kysela
Entrepreneur, investor and trader.
The market pays you for being right in the right place, at the right size and with the cost of being wrong set in advance. Almost everything about the way I work follows from that.
My name is Martin Kysela. I have been in business since the late 1990s. I came up through sales and marketing, ran my own companies and later invested in other people's.
These days I split my time between the markets and business development. I help companies grow, open up new business and get their sales and management into shape, so that growth doesn't break them.
I've commented on the markets for Czech media, including Czech Television and the news sites iDNES.cz, Novinky.cz, Aktuálně.cz, e15.cz and MoneyMAG.cz.
How I think
Context
Deciding on the basis of what is actually happening, not on what people say. Numbers instead of impressions. Not a forecast, but the input for a decision.
Risk
Knowing in advance how much a mistake is allowed to cost. A decision with no limit on what it can cost isn't a decision. It's a bet.
Execution
Doing what you decided in advance, even under pressure. It's rarely the analysis that beats people. It's the emotions.
